Screenplay Writing Software

Do novelists use particular software to write novels?

I find it takes time to keep adjusting work and wonder if there's a novelist equivalent to Final Draft (used by script writes)?

  1. There are various software applications that can help with writing fiction. The two that I hear mentioned most often are Scrivener and StoryMill (Mac only). Here's a blog post comparing the features of both packages: http://www.creativityist.com/2008/10/27/head-to-head-comparing-scrivener-and-storymill/ I think you can download free trials of both packages to try them out before buying. There are also a few other freeware and shareware applications available that I'm not familiar with at all but if you Google "fiction software freeware shareware" you should be able to find them quite easily. Cheers.
