Writing a Movie Script? I am a new writer working on my first book. When I envision scenes in the book, I always see them in my head playing out in a movie scene. I am thinking about transfering my writing over to a script format (I've never written a movie script before) . Writing a script to automatically update an SQL database? Ok, here is the scenario... I have a piece of software that writes to an SQL database and does so fine with a version of my file managing software. The file managing software updates files into the software by way of an SQL database. The piece of software I have writes everyting necessary to that database in order for the file to appear in the file management software. The problem is, I have updated to a new version of the file manager software. This new version added a column in the database that my other software is not programmed to write. Now, I cannot simply edit the other software to write this column, so I want to write a script. All the script needs to do is write the value "All View" into the column "ILSKey". Thats it. Once for each row in the table. So, I want it to automatically, every 10 seconds or so, look to write to this column if it is empty for a non-null row. Can I do this through javascript with SQL insert commands and conditional checks on if another column is filled in, I can write to this column if it is null? So, IF (FileName != null) THEN (ILSKey = "All View"). Of course, that is just psudocode. This would then be a javascript file that I can set as a scheudled task to run through windows every 10 seconds, or is there a way to do it in the script itself. I have never written a javascript like this, just java and c++, and some HTML, so any asistance on where I can get started would be appreciated!!! I am not looking for someone to write this, but guidence on how I cna start. I tried to google a lot but cannot find anything relevant enough for a first-time script. Even if someone has just a simple script that will write Hello to a column, I can figure teh logical operators out. Ok, I have a stored procedure crated and that is fine, it functions if I manually run it in SQL, but I cannot ge thits scheduled as a job. Perhaps it is my lack of use of SQL, but I cannot see how I can create a job that simply runs this stored procedure. I can create a job and schdule it, but how do I have the job run the stored procedure? Thanks.

Log scanning script for keyword in Windows? I need to scan a log file for the word SEVERE, then I will have an event written to the application log so our monitor software can alert me.
